Push-ups are one of the most famous and complete strength exercises in the fitness world since they allow us to work several muscle groups in a practical and simple way, without requiring specific equipment. Before starting, the test duration should be determined, which may vary according to the subject’s strength level.


  • Required material: A flat surface and a stopwatch.
  • Procedure: The test begins with the subject lying face down on the floor with hands shoulder-width apart and arms fully extended (A). At the start signal, the subject must lower the body until elbows reach a 90 degree angle (B) and return to the starting position with arms fully extended (A), this will be counted as one push-up. The test consists of trying to perform the highest number of push-ups in the preset time.
  • Assessment: The number of well executed push-ups will be counted, discarding those considered void due to poor technical execution. The subject will have a maximum of 3 attempts. In Fisicalcoach,  the highest number, as well as the median and the mean can be registered.
